This course will focus on tolerances and acceptable measurements under the ADA and will explain the differences between conditions that are 1) fully compliant as measured, 2) within true “industry tolerances”, 3) de minimis variances from the standards, 4) considered acceptable, and 5) “hopefully close enough”. Participants will also learn when each of these concepts might apply to a specific facility. Finally, the instructor will give examples of various conditions that might fall within each of those categories and explain why.

This course will define and explain some of the most often confused and misapplied concepts in the ADA and other common accessibility standards used throughout the United States.
